What to wear for family photos
Coordinate, don’t match
Instead of everyone wearing the exact same outfit, aim for a coordinated look with complementary colours and styles. Think about selecting a colour palette with 2-3 main colours and then mix in different shades and simple patterns.
Timeless over trendy
Opt for classic styles that won’t look dated in a few years. Solid colours, simple patterns, and timeless pieces are always a good choice. Avoid large logos or very bold patterns that might distract from your lovely faces.
Consider the location
Think about where your photo session will take place. If we’re shooting at the beach, light, airy clothes look great. For a country or farm session, earthy tones will complement the natural surroundings.
Layers and textures
Layers and different textures can add depth and interest to your photos. Think scarves, jackets, and cardigans. Don’t be afraid to mix fabrics like denim, knits, and cottons.
