Brisbane newborn photoshoot

This newborn photoshoot holds a special place in my heart—it was my very first one.

It felt fitting that it was for my dear friends, Tom and Tilly, who had just welcomed their beautiful first baby, Wynn, into the world. Their cosy, bungalow-style home was the perfect setting for a newborn session. With its warm wooden floors, character-filled nooks, and leafy surroundings, their home radiated charm and comfort, much like this little family.

It was a lovely, slow Autumn morning—the kind you savour. The sunlight filtered gently through the trees, casting a soft, dappled glow in the rooms where we captured these precious moments. Between photos, we sipped on hot coffee, chatting about their first few weeks as parents and marvelling at how fast and slow it seems to go all at the same time.

Wynn was calm and content, with those sleepy newborn stretches and tiny fingers that curled perfectly around his mummy and daddy’s hands. There’s something magical about photographing the early days of parenthood—those tender glances, quiet cuddles, and the overwhelming sense of love that fills the air. For me, this wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was a chance to document the love and joy of two dear friends stepping into this incredible new chapter of their lives.

Looking back, I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful way to begin my journey as a family photographer. These moments, full of connection and warmth, remind me why I do what I do.
